In the Indian arena today, boards have their hands full, trying to forestall bottom line pressures be it through margin growth or through value addition. Deveshwar does not seem satisfied doing just that; since he has moved to the concept of triple bottom line performance measurement, which includes economic, ecological and social performance. Dear Mr. Deveshwar, that sounds kind a good for 'em bureaucrats. But do you really believe shareholders are going to buy that management spin?
